A senior Houthi militant leader was killed on Friday during fierce battles between the army and the Houthi militia northern Al-Dhale province, southern Yemen.

Qataba district witnessed heavy fighting after the army targeted gatherings of Houthi militia, killing the senior Houthi leader and a number of militants and destroying combat tanks.
