Dep. Minister of Planning, FAO delegation discuss anti-locusts efforts

Deputy Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Dr. Nezar BaSoheib met Tuesday in the temporary capital Aden with the delegation of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

The FAO delegation headed by the Director of Emergency Department in the FAO’s office in Rome Dominick Burgeon.

The meeting devoted to discuss the FAO’s emergency plans and efforts to control desert locusts in all governorates.

The two sides approved to set-up Joint Operation Unit to carry out the anti-desert locusts plans.

The conversations also touched upon aspects of joint cooperation between Yemen and the FAO in the domains of agriculture and food.

Separately, Dr. BaSoheib met with the Director of the FAO in Aden Mutentan Chemoka.

They discussed the FAO’s programs and activities including support for the Aden Seaport with advanced equipment.
