President Rashad al-Alimi says true peace in Yemen requires dismantling the Houthi militias’ racist and military structures.
He made the remarks during a meeting with UN Envoy Hans Grundberg.
Al-Alimi reaffirmed support for UN-led peace efforts, including Security Council Resolution 2216.
He accused the Houthis of obstructing negotiations and using peace talks as manipulation.
The President also condemned Houthi violations of the arms embargo.
He said the militias are deliberately prolonging the conflict and worsening humanitarian suffering.
Al-Alimi urged the UN and international community to go beyond crisis management.
He called for stronger efforts to prevent the Houthis from reimposing tyranny.
The President also stressed the need for financial support to stabilize Yemen’s currency, emphasizing that economic recovery is key to lasting peace.
