PM praises Germany’s support for Yemen, appreciates its humanitarian assistance

The Prime Minister, Salem bin Braik, met on Tuesday with the Special Commissioner of the German Federal Foreign Office for the Middle East, Near East and North Africa, Tobias Tunkel, and the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Yemen, Thomas Friedrich.
They discussed a range of topical issues, including Yemeni-German bilateral relations and cooperation, developments of the political, security and economic situations on the Yemeni national arena, challenges facing the Yemeni government and the support needed from regional and international partners.
The Prime Minister voiced the Yemeni government’s gratitude to the Federal Republic of Germany for its steadfast stance in support of the internationally recognized government and greatly valued Germany’s substantial contribution to the humanitarian response plan in Yemen.
He stated that the government is keenly seeking to further develop Yemen’s partnership with Germany to serve the mutual interest of the two countries.
The German official affirmed Berlin’s firm stance in supporting the Presidential Leadership Council and the Yemeni government.
He stated that Germany is willing to keep cooperating with the Yemeni government in order to contribute to supporting stability, sustaining the economic recovery process, fulfilling reforms and improving the basic services.
