At least 20 coup militants were on Thursday killed and injured in clashes with national army forces in Assailan district of Shabwah province southeast Yemen.

Field sources told September Net that fierce clashes broke out between 19th Infantry Brigade and the coupists in Lakhadhir front.

Similarly,NA warded off two attacks launched by the militias on their sites in areas of Mahkamt-Assailan and eastern Akada-Alam.

The coup militias tried to open new battlefront eastern Akada-Alam area, but were foiled by NA and forced to flee away after suffering heavy casualties in their ranks, according to the sources.
