Army captures strategic areas in Sa’ada

National Army forces regained control over strategic areas on Friday from the control of Houthi coup militia in Baqim district in the northern province of Sa’ada.

Brigadier General Yasser Mogali, commander of the 63rd infantry Brigade, said to September Net that “the army managed to liberate the village of “Al Hamaki” and other surrounded villages in the north of Baqim after clashes with the militia.

Scores of Houthi militants were killed and wounded during the clashes, added Brig.Gen. Mogali

The army also managed to capture several mountainous positions in the district during sudden attack killed and wounded a number of Houthi militiamen and forced others to flee.

For his part, the commander of the 9th infantry Brigade Brig.Gen. Adeep Alshehab stated to September Net “the demining teams of the army have cleaned all liberated areas of the district from landmines and explosive devices planted earlier by Houthi rebels in order to slowdown the advancement of the army.

In the context, the artillery forces of the army targeted militia reinforcements on its way to the frontlines of the province, destroying two combat vehicles and killing or wounding all the rebels on board.
