Army destroys 7000 Houthi-laid mines in Sa’ada

Yemen military’s engineers have destroyed on Wednesday around 7000 mines planted by Houthi militia in liberated areas in Sa’ada province.
Head of Demining Teams in Sa’ada military pivot Col. Saif al-Salafi said” the mines, of various shape and size and were removed from Kitaf-Buka and the triangle linking provinces of Sa’ada and Jawf .
Houthi militia deliberately plant landmines and explosive devices residential areas, public roads and farms, posing serious threats on the lives of civilians,” Al-Salafi added.
“We are continuing to clear and demine all liberated areas to ensure safe and secure return of displaced families.”
It’s important to note that National Army has extracted previously more than 20,000 mines and explosives laid by the rebel militia before fleeing areas in Kitaf-Buka district of Sa’ada
