VP meets US Ambassador to Yemen
Vice President Ali Mohsen Saleh discussed on Wednesday with US Ambassador to our country Matthew Toler the latest political developments in Yemen arena and the bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and means of enhancing them.
In a meeting held in Riyadh on Wednesday, the Vice President, highly praised the US support to legitimate government led by His Excellency President Abdu Rabu Mansour Hadi.
Discussion touched upon joining efforts to stop Iran’s interference in Yemen’s internal affairs, combat terrorism and extremism controlling smuggling and mutual cooperation in these areas in order to stabilize international peace and security.
Vice President noted to the continued Houthi stubbornness to fail the Sweden Agreement through the rebel militia’s ongoing violations of ceasefire in Hodeida and its procrastination to implement the prisoners deal as well as the militia’s disregard of UN envoy’s efforts.
Saleh reiterated legitimate government’s firm position—backed by Saudi-led Arab Coalition— aiming to realize security and stability in Yemen and achieve permanent peace based on the three term of references which guarantee the end of Houthi militia’s coup and restore the Yemeni state.
For his part, the American diplomat reiterated his government’s constant support to Yemen’s legitimate government, its peace and security and rejecting Iran’s intervening in Yemen internal affairs.
