Spokesman of the Coalition to Support the Legitimacy in Yemen said on Wednesday that the Iran-backed Houthi rebel militia launched a ballistic missile from Saada, but it crashed inside the province.

The Saudi Press Agency quoted Col. Turki Al-Maliki as saying that the Iranian-backed rebel militia fired the missile from Sahar district and it landed in Al-Safra, also in Saada.

Al-Maliki said that the Houthi militia continue to violate international humanitarian law and its customary rules by indiscriminately firing ballistic missiles, which land on civilian areas, threaten the lives of hundreds of innocent Yemeni people.

He added that the coalition will continue to take firm deterrent measures to neutralize and destroy the Houthi militia ballistic capabilities to protect civilians in Yemeni and regional and international security.
