The national army in Marib province has seized quantities of narcotic hashish on its way to the Iran-backed Houthi rebel militia.
Soldiers from the Al-Rigaa checkpoint of the 13th Brigade managed to seize about 100 kg of hashish in a Mazda car on its way to the rebel militia in the capital Sana’a.
This shipment is the fourth of its kind, seized in three months, at the same army checkpoint.
Hashish trade has been booming in areas controlled by the Houthi rebel militia since it overthrew the legitimate government.
Houthi militiamen, who are massed on the front lines, use cannabis publicly and regularly, causing addiction.
The hashish which is taken up by militia elements affects their state of mind and causes them to act unconsciously.
