Vice President praises UK support to Yemen’s government
Vice President Ali Mohsen Saleh has praised United Kingdom’s efforts for supporting legality and security of Yemen.
In his meeting with UK Charge D’Affairs in Yemen Simon Smart on Thursday, the two parties discussed mutual relations between the two countries and latest developments in Yemen.
Vice President pointed to suffering of the Yemeni people caused by Iran-backed Houthi militia, which has become posing a threat to regional and international’s security and stability.
He renewed government’s choice of realizing permanent peace based on the three references; the GCC Initiative, the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and UN Resolution 2216 for ending the coup and regaining the state and for realizing Yemeni people’s aspirations of building the federal Yemen based on six regions.
He confirmed that Riyadh Agreement serves the interests of all, expressing thanks to Saudi Arabia for sponsoring the agreement.
For his part, the UK diplomat expressed pleasure for this meeting, which discussed a number of urgent issues in Yemen, confirming continuous support to the internationally-recognized government and for realizing security and stability in Yemen.
