Yemen’s Ambassador to Lebanon Abdullah al-Doays and Lebanon’s Deputy Prime Minister Ghassan Hasbani addressed the involvement of some Lebanese groups in supporting Houthi rebel militia in Yemen.

In a meeting in Beirut on Tuesday, Al-Doays said these groups offer the violent militia financial, military and promotional support demanding that the Lebanese state pressures those collaborators with Houthis to stop their acts.

The two officials discussed the political, security and economic developments in Yemen including the Houthi stubborn avoidance of commitments under peace deals including under the Stockholm Agreement which was signed in December.

Al-Doays also noted that Iran is involved in financing and training the Houthi militia to attack international shipping in Bab al-Mandeb strait.

The Lebanese official emphasized support of his country to Yemen’s government and his wishes of the return of Yemen back to peace.
