Army defeats Houthi attack in Al-Jawf, liberates positions from militia attack began
Yemeni armed forces on Thursday repelled an attack by the Iran-backed Houthi rebel militia in eastern Al-Jawf province.
The commander of the 22nd Infantry Brigade, Brig. Gen. Abdoullah Al-Mekhlafi, told September Net that the army had defeated an attack by the Houthi militia east of Al-Hazm district.
Brig. Gen. Al-Mekhlafi confirmed that the army next launched a counter-offensive, during which it was able to recapture positions from which the Houthi militia attacks were launched.He said the army chased militia regiments as they fled the area of the clashes, leaving the bodies of its members tobesed in the desert.
He said that, the clashes resulted in the killing and wounding of a number of militia men, destroying of a number of combat vehicles and the recapture of a number of others.
