The Yemeni army on Monday captured several mountainous positions from the Houthi rebel militia in the north of Lahj province, southern the country.
The army carried a large-scale offensive on the militia in the district of Qabetah, liberating a number of hills including ‘al-Sakeyah’, al-Adan’ , and al-Asra’, in addition to the Alkarb chain of hills.
The army troops were also able to push out the militiamen from two strategic junctions in the area and forced them to flee and retreat before inflicting them major losses in human and equipment.
